Course Description:  This is a concise overview of Transmission Electron Microscopy of biological tissue. This presentation will briefly cover how to gross, fix, process, cut and view tissue on a Transmission Electron Microscope.
Presenter Bio: Margaret Gondo is Laboratory Supervisor for the Electron Microscopy and Histology Laboratories at the University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston TX. Margaret received her BS in Biology with a minor in Psychology from East Tennessee University. She is ASCP Certified as both a Histotechnologist and a Histologic Technician and has her Qualification in Immunohistochemistry, all of which she earned in the same year. She has over 24 years of laboratory research experience working at larger institutions including Baylor College of Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center and now her role at the University of Houston. Margaret is also involved with training of students for microtomy and ultra microtome sectioning.
