Course Description: For histotechnologists and pathologists alike, it is critically important to know what IHC expressions are appropriate in the morphologic setting and which ones should be attributed to non-specific staining. In this lecture, we will discuss the specificity of several antibodies and the attendee will learn what to look for in each of the tissues selected. 
 
Presenter Bio: Dr. Haas is a community hospital pathologist and served as Director of Molecular Pathology at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, Wisconsin. He has a long-time interest in histotechnology methods, procedures and education, and served on the NSH-CAP HistoQIP Committee for 6 years (2008-3014), and was a contributor to the College of American Pathologists publication on "IHC Validation Guidelines" in 2014. Since 2001, Dr. Haas has been a speaker at previous NSH Annual Symposia and at many state histotechnology society meetings, and has also been a featured speaker at several international meetings.
