Frozen sectioning is a quick procedure generally performed in a Mohs histopathology laboratory for a quick diagnosis while patients are waiting for the results. I will talk about the uses of frozen sections, different methods of freezing specimens, the art of cryosectioning and rapid hematoxylin and eosin staining of the frozen sections. I will also discuss the causes of the problems encountered and how to troubleshoot them each step of the way.

I will also discuss the causes of the problems encountered and how to troubleshoot them each step of the way.
Presenter Bio:  Melinda Chow started her career in histology 41 years ago as a summer intern in college. Once she acquired the skills in histotechnology, she was hired to work in a research histology lab, subsequently, in a clinical histopathology, orthopedic research and development and academia. She was also part of a team that won 2 FDA approvals and several scientific publications. She has been a Mohs histotech for 2 Mohs surgeons in the last 7 years. Most recently, she has given two presentations at the annual meeting of the Mohs Society of Histotechnology.
